Dave Doster is a local product, graduating from New Haven High School, and ultimately graduating from Indiana State University. Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 27th round, he started his 13 year professional career in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In 1995 he led his AA Reading, PA team to the Eastern League Championship earning the Paul Owen’s Award for the best player in the Phillies minor league system. 1996 brought Dave’s 1st major league call up for the Phillies. Dave made the Philadelphia Phillies Major League team in 1999 playing for current Manager of the Cleveland Indians, Terry Francona.

In 2001, Dave decided to move to the Japan Professional League playing for the Yokohama Baystars as well as 5 years in the Mexican winter leagues, affording him invaluable international experience. In 2004, playing for the AAA Fresno Grizzles (part of the San Francisco Giants organization), Dave put together a 32 game hitting streak which was the longest of the 2004 season for any level.

He is a member of the Northeast Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame, Reading Phillies Hall of Fame class of 2009 & was voted to the Reading Phillies 30th & 40th Anniversary teams.

Dave has numerous years of experience with instruction of all ages and enjoys passing along his love of the game to the next generations. “Play Hard & Have Fun”


Connor Wilkins

Ivy Tech Baseball Coach

Coach Wilkins enters his first year at Ivy Tech. Connor will be the catching coach, the weight lifting coaching coach, and the four year placement coordinator. Coach Wilkin’s main focus is the development of the catchers in all aspects of the game. Connor is a former player of Coach Hershberger’s at Concordia Lutheran High School. Connor was 1st team all conference and all district Catcher while at Concordia. Coach Wilkins was also one of the team captains his senior year. Coach Wilkins was recognized by PBR as one of the top 50 prospects in the state of Indiana.

Connor went on to play college ball at Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan. His sophomore year at Jackson, Connor was recognized as a MCCAA Academic All Conference Catcher. After Jackson, Connor received a scholarship to play ball at Indiana Tech where he suffered a career ending injury.

Connor became the Head JV Baseball Coach and Varsity Catching Coach at Northrop High School in 2014. While Coach Wilkins was at Northrop the Varsity won their conference 2 out of 4 years and a sectional championship. Both of the varsity catchers that Coach Wilkins worked with went on to play college baseball, one at IU Kokomo, the other at IPFW. Coach Wilkins has worked with over a dozen high school catchers in the Fort Wayne area over the last four years.

Matt Bischoff

A former New Haven High School graduate, Bischoff was an All NHC, All Area pitcher for 3 separate years with 2 All State selections. Matt holds the all-time strikeout (453) and wins (35) record at New Haven, while assisting in winning 2 Sectional championships. From 2007-2010, Bischoff would attend Purdue University, setting the all-time strikeout record (291) and finishing 2nd all-time in innings pitched (323.1) and wins (23), graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Technology. The first and only player in Purdue history to be awarded All-Big Ten honors 4 times; he was drafted twice, by the New York Mets (2008) and Seattle Mariners (2010). Matt competed for 5 years (2 years with Seattle, 3 with Baltimore), reaching the Triple A level and also pitching in Liga Mexicana in Mexico during the winter of 2013. Outside his work in marketing, he now spends his free time instructing youth and High School baseball development, teaching the necessary skills gathered during his playing career.

Courtney Cronin

Cronin ended her career as one of the top pitchers in Summit League history … She had the fourth-most wins (63), fourth-most saves (8), fourth-most shutouts (28), sixth-most starts (96), seventh-most appearances (122), seventh-most strikeouts (528), eighth-most innings pitched (610.0), ninth-most complete games (67), 11th best winning percentage (.677 / 63-30), 13th best ERA (1.82) in Summit League history, all individual school pitching records.

In 2012, she earned Capital One Academic All-District First Team … Named Second Team All-Summit League by the league coaches … Named the College Sports Madness Summit League Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-League by the website .Ended the year ranked 15th in the country in ERA, 16th in saves, 91st in wins, 104th in RBI’s per game, 127th in doubles per game, 199th in strikeouts per seven innings, and 279th in home runs per game .

In 2011, she was named a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete … Was named Second Team All-Summit League … Was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week three times … Had an 18-9 record with a 2.09 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 154.1 innings of work … Picked up seven shutouts and 19 complete games. Also batted .304 on the season with five home runs, 29 RBI, and 19 runs scored with a slugging percentage of .481.

During her high shool years, she was chosen to be a member of the Canadian Junior National Team in 2006 for the World Qualifiers in Puerto Rico…Has been a member of three National Champion teams while at North Delta Secondary, while also helping the team to three Provincial Championships, and a first-place finish in the Canada Cup Future Division against Chinese Taipai in 2008…Currently plays on the Surrey Storm 1990 squad…Won MVP and Top Player in the Championship Round at the 2008 Canadian Nationals in Nova Scotia.

Vern Shannon

High School Coach, Pitching & Fundamentals Instructor, Head Coach FW Lady Spiders

Coach Shannon has been around the game of softball for close to 20 years. He is a fundamental driven coach and teaches the game well. While Coach Shannon teaches all aspects of the game, he is a certified pitching instructor and is available for private and small group instruction. Coach Shannon, a certified coach with the American Coaching Academy and the National Federation of state High School Association (NFHS), has shown over and over again to be a patient teacher to young players and has worked incredibly hard for their benefit.

Coach Shannon pushes his players to reach their maximum potential, as he is a proponent of the philosophy “Champion’s are made not born.” He believes a team working together accomplishes more than any individual member, success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and out and the foundation of success is knowledge of the fundamentals.

Coach has enjoyed a lot of success over the years. Little league teams, 12U and 14U travel teams as well as Concordia softball. Coach Shannon has an overall 1,591 wins and 152 losses, guiding his Little League Teams at Hamilton Park to 6- District 10 City runner’s up in City Championships, 5 – District 10 All-Stars City runner’s up Championships, 1 District -10 Senior City Championship 2013. As far as travel goes, – 2010, 2011,2012 Annual School Daze Champions,2009 ,2008,2012 Fostoria Glass Fest Champions,2008,2009, 2011 Jim Wilde Memorial Champions, 2012,2013 Monroe Monster Bash Champions.

He will be providing Private Lessons and participate in some of the Camps & Clinics at StrikeZone

Indiana Tech Assistant Baseball Coach, Instructor

Coach Collins-Bride is in his third year serving as an assistant for Kip McWilliams at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He currently is in his fifth overall season as a collegiate baseball coach in addition to being the head coach for the San Francisco Seals Collegiate Baseball Club the past four summers. Off the field, coach CB has a strong passion for the weight room and optimizing overall athletic potential with the athletes that he works with. He has held the title of head strength and conditioning coach for the respective baseball programs he has been affiliated with as well as additional athletic programs at Indiana Tech


At Tech, coach CB is in charge of the hitters, catchers, infielders and pitch calling. In the last two seasons, the defense as improved its fielding percentage twenty points over that span, from .941-.953-.961. Two hitters have received All-American awards; Romer Portes (2nd Team 2015) and Brian Hakes (1st Team 2016). Overall, the offense has improved in both years in run production, homeruns, walks, hit by pitches, strikeouts and has been in the top fifteen in both doubles and triples each year as well. Most notably, the 2016 group of Warriors held the 5th best ERA nationally, including two senior pitcher’s signing professional contracts in the following 2016 summer. In addition, coach CB is in charge of all West Coast recruiting for the Warriors and has brought over ten California Junior College transfers over the last two seasons. Overall, the Indiana Tech baseball program has made it to their conference championship game both years, a regional appearance in 2016 and a top 25 national ranking in 2016 after achieving an overall record of 40-20.

Prior to Tech, coach CB spent two years as an assistant coach at his Alma Mater, Ave Maria University. AMU participated in one of the toughest conferences in the country and was only in its fourth year as a program during in his first year coaching. Coach CB was in charge of hitters, infielders, catchers and baserunners. Overall the program went 38-21, came in 2nd place in The Sun Conference, and made its first conference tournament appearance, regional tournament appearance and national top 25 ranking. AMU was also nationally ranked in nearly every major category: 5th in hits per game, 7th in stolen bases per game, 18th in fielding percentage and the AMU catcher received the NAIA Gold Glove for the country. Individually, great success was earned as well, with two All-American receipts, three conference Gold Glove winners, the national leader in hits, the conference player of the year and conference pitcher of the year.


The San Francisco Seals have been a summer norm for coach CB for over 8 years now. Prior to becoming the head coach, he held the position as assistant coach and played 3 summers for the Seals. The Seals are a summer collegiate wood bat program, independent from any league and are able to play of the hardest summer schedules around. On average, the Seals spend the summer traveling throughout the west coast, playing at some of the largest venues in the country. Each summer consists of multiple trips to Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Nevada and an end of the year trip to Wichita, Kansas for the NBC World Series.

Coach Collins-Bride is a California Bay Area native but currently resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He will be in charge of AIM Baseball Programs (both the younger kids, and the HS kids) as well as providing Private Lessons and participating in some of the Camps & Clinics at StrikeZone


Brandon Martin

Power, Strength & Conditioning – Performance Coach – Baseball Instructor

Coach Martin was a 1991 Graduate of New Haven High School lettering in Baseball, Basketball, and Football.  He later went on to play baseball at Indiana State University (1991-1995) while obtaining his BS in Physical Education, ISU; continuing on securing his Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.  Coach Martin has since dedicated his work life to 20 years of teaching and 20 years of coaching.

Coach has been active in several coaching roles including 11 years Varsity Head Baseball (producing 18 collegiate athletes 9 graduating classes), 6 years Head, Assistant, and Assistant Coordinator of Coca-Cola Academic All-Stars, 4 years Head Boys Golf, 2 years Assistant Coach AZBCA All-Stars along with experience in developing athletes in Football, Soccer and Track and Field. Coach Martin served as Head Assistant Coach IPFW , 1999-2001.

Coach Martin brings along a wealth of knowledge and experience including  baseball camp instruction at Indiana State University, Lincoln Land CC (Springfield, IL), Louisiana State University and  The Arizona Diamondback Training Centers and Head Instructor at Lincoln Land CC and the Arizona Diamondback Training Center.  Presently, Coach Martin serves as the  Head of Strength and Conditioning at Northrop High School.


He was the Director of “Small Ball’ program in 2015 – 2016 and will continue in that role in 2016 – 2017.
